Art Students Excel at Conference Art Competition

The 2026 Trailblazer Conference Art Show was held on Wednesday, April 22nd in Wahoo. Art students from each school in the conference were invited to bring their original artworks and participate in a day-long event that included a judged art competition. A-G Students Excel at State FBLA

I wanted to take a minute to highlight some of our local members' accomplishments at the State Leadership Conference this week. They have all worked so hard and I'd love for you to congratulate them!  We had 21 National Qualifiers with three students qualifying in more than one event. We may have a few more yet that get to represent AG in San Antonio, TX this summer as students are only able to compete in one event. We had 33 total students earn Top 8 in the state, all class, which is super exciting.  . . .

Ashland-Greenwood Alumni Makes Strides at the Boston Marathon

The Ashland-Greenwood community continues to show what it means to lead with determination, heart, and service. One of our alumni, Jaxson Hamm, recently achieved an incredible milestone by completing the prestigious Boston Marathon—one of the world’s most historic and challenging races, drawing around 30,000 runners from across the globe each year. Last Day of School for Students will be Friday, May 15th

  The   final day of school for students will be Friday, May 15th, 2026; this will be an early dismissal day for students.  The final contract day for certified staff  will be Tuesday, May 19th. Each year the district school calendar is developed to include extra days to account for possible school closings due to   weather or other events.   All of these extra days were not needed this year.  The number of state required instructional hours will be exceeded for all students at all grade . . .

State Champions at Skills Testing USA

Last week students had the opportunity to participate in a skill based competition located in Grand Island. These competitions test the knowledge and physical skill to produce a product. AGPS Again Thanks Our Community!

  Thank you to I3 Bank and the multiple businesses and community members who recently donated!  This year, I3 Bank replaced their traditional holiday canned food drive with collecting donations to help support unpaid hot lunch bills for Ashland-Greenwood students.    Margo   Halbmaier, I3 employee, shared that the response from the community was very positive.   Collected donations far exceeded the initial goal!    A   check for over $3800.00 was presented to Karee . . .

Every new residential customer who signed up for ALLO service from November through December 2024 was presented with the opportunity to select a school to receive a $50 donation from ALLO. Nebraska Department of Education’s 2025 School Emergency Mapping Grant

Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools was recently notified that our application was selected for the Nebraska Department of Education’s 2025 School Emergency Mapping Grant. This grant is designed to enhance the safety and security of Nebraska’s students, staff, and visitors by implementing a comprehensive mapping data system. Congratulations to Mr. Matt Flynn - Outstanding New Middle School Principal of the Year

Ashland-Greenwood Middle School Principal, Matt Flynn, was recognized by Region I Nebraska State Association of Secondary Principals as the outstanding new middle school principal of the year.  (Principals in their first 3 years in the role are eligible for this award.)  Mr. Flynn was not only surprised upon receiving the award, but was also appreciative when several of his Ashland-Greenwood colleagues and his wife, Liz Flynn, were present to help enjoy the announcement!   Congratulations to Mr. Flynn . . .

Playground Expansion Complete at Ashland-Greenwood Primary Elementary
